That's looking good. I've always wanted one of these, they're sweet little rides.

Me to, it will be sad when it goes and I might be putting a bit to much into it because I am getting attched to it. I have to keep telling myself its just a job.:(

Time to start the rear quarters[;)

It's easy to love those cars because they are good looking and can be fast.

I has a '66 SS, black with black guts, until my daughter totaled it.

The plan was to just scuff the engine bay and shoot it stock flat & semi gloss black but I got looking at it and decided it needed to be blasted 1st. Again I am getting carried away and maybe going a bit to far.

On a side note, yesterday I got a call from a guy asking if I would do an old Mopar, I said sure and made an appointment to meet him at his house last night. When I got there I was amazed at what I saw. 1969 Road Runner 440 SixPack with the lift off hood all #s matching bucket seat auto on the floor w/factory air compeltely orig. He bought the car in 1973 with 7k on the clock put another 5k on it then a tree limb fell across the left rear damageing the 1/4 and deck lid. He bought brand new parts back then (NOS sheet metal) and then parked it and has been high and dry for all those years and now he is retired and wants to drive it again.
Amazing car and story I hope to be doing the car in Sept will have pics then.
They are still out there so keep yer eyes and ears open.[dr

Wow, that's a sweet 'Vette. We are definitely going to need more pictures of that one [dr

Its not going to happen:(. After it was unloaded I did a very quick inspection and found that the car was not what it was supposed to be. The body was very very rough drivers door post was way weak and the door wouldn't fit also had been patched togeather a lot and I do stress a lot! So I gave him an estimate on cost to put it back correctly and he wasn't happy. So we then went to work on the drive train. The car was advertised as a orig 425hp 396 and had all the correct pics in the ad, NOT! Wrong intake wrong heads and then when checking the block casting #s 2 of them came off in the rag (bondo?) and what was left was a truck 2bolt motor and the trans was a rusty old saginaw cast iron junk. Needless to say it is going back to the seller for gross misrepresention. Oh well back to the Nova.

Sounds like a CRIMINAL misrepresentation! Somebody was trying to pass off a pig in a poke right there......

Back to project Nova. The right front fender is an original part so I am trying to save it. They had a hood pin in the lower dog leg I assume was there for quick removal. Made a patch plug and filled the screw holes.
Then on the front of it there is supposed to be a small leg that is under the head light door that has 2 mounting clip holes. Well it had been broke off and lost who knows when. So I had to make it, still needs a bit of work but you get the idea.

Oh wow, sorry to hear that, but it's a good thing you caught it before you got too far into it like I did on a 67 Camaro.

The Nova is coming along good. That right quarter is a little wrinkly though, but I'm sure you'll get it all straightened out ;)

Ya. it sucks but onward and upward.
Wrinkely? ya think?
opened a real can of worms today:eek:

The 65 Vette is back on. The guy that bought it worked out a smoke'n deal and know has the correct motor/trans and a pile of money to pay me to fix it.
As soon as the Nova is done it is next.
