cab is off the the motor home frame:D

WORST MOCK UP 0F A PROJECT START EVER:eek:

the fender is off jimmy's truck, the other fenders have the flair so it will cover the tire better.

love to find a bed like the red one, it would make life so much easier.

"cab is off the the motor home frame"

I'm envious! I'm going to have to be careful dismantling mine so I don't leave crap every where. Plus lots of parts to salvage. The hurry in me wants to walk around the thing with a saws all and put it on the ground...:D

what year MH you working with for the CH project???

YAY they make a mess when disassembling. l found that on the 1973 chevy of mine no frame bolts, just welded to the frame at the bottom of the floor pan/cab and front fenders so no body bolts. l left part of the floor pan that was welded to the chassis, may use it fasten the other floor to or just set it up to "mate" the old and new pans together.

lots of planning to get it right.

wow outstanding start for a car hauler! [cl

I bet that car hauler bed you have a picture of would scare princes with the price, I cant imagine something like that being cheap

Skull, it's an 85 Southwind. By all measurements so far, it'll be a cinch. Same 180" wheelbase. Same size wheels and tires. Frame rails within an inch of each other....can't see any holdups that are waiting in the bushes. Of course that remains to be seen, eh?

Lovin' the free bed. One step closer.

I'm thinking some light tubing and sheet metal could be formed to make sides to look like the fancy one.

Skip--"I'm thinking some light tubing and sheet metal could be formed to make sides to look like the fancy one."

are you volunteering to make me one[SHAHHAAHAAAAA

FREE SCORE #2:D

my cousin has a 7OOR4 he has no use for and is trading me for a turbo 35O l got for free[cl

l have chance to get a 454/t4OO out of a motor home free, catch is l have to get rid of the hulk and l can't find anyone who scraps them out for parts:(

wood,wood & more wood

floor removal is under way, l found out the floor pan goes back further than l thought.

last pic pic of where the metal ends and the open area that will appear when the wood is scraped off. if you look close at the frame side the weld line is visible.

the floor pan going that far back may help when l put the pilothouse cab on.

Lot of work there. I have re-purposed a couple of camp trailers. Little wonder "junk" MHs and the like are nearly free.

free stuff again

17 X 8 inch wheels for the carhauler. they should clean up nicely.

got all 4 now all l need is tires.

roommate says use'em, he got them for free to use on the 3/4 ton he has and don't like the look,--heck-- l'll us'em and they even have dodge ram caps and lugnuts:D

the deal on the one in the first pics fell thru, BUT l found a 1952 for $15O.OO so the build is still a go, l am going to put the 1948 valance/nose cone on her so it will look like a 1948 still.

sold $2OO.OO worth of parts l don't need, net gain so far is $5O.OO and l still have stuff l aint using to sell.

home

spending the day getting ready to pull the cab and get the chassis down to bare bones and get it to the guy who needs it to restore the 1952 2 ton he has.

l like not having to scrap it and someone can use it.
