New rocker outer skins arrived today. A day early.[cl [cl :D :D
Like most repop sheet metal items they will need some tweaking but all in all I'm satisfied.
The bottom edge where my paw is needs to be at a 90 to the upper edge. I can take care of that.
Tomorrow is a [;) [;) [;)
day.

That will clean things up nicely! I'm sure we had this discussion, but as a reminder I was instructed to keep the welding machine as far away as possible, and to keep the amps below 160, which for sheet metal is a no brainer. I have to remind myself about the machine sometimes...
Good luck and take it easy - you don't have to go at it too hard.

Right on, way to breathe life back into that old Mopar.

Thanks falconvan. Just shows more of why this one was bound for the scrap yeard until in came along.

At least they're something to work with. You are moving along very well. Proud of ya son.

Thanks,bob w. That means a lot to me.

Gonna look much better [cl[P[P[P
I could be a SA and say that it wouldn't take much for it too look better:eek:
You are right though.:D

 Too late for all of the above, Bill.
I have been feeling a bit more perky since the DR got my BP off of ground zero again.:D I'm just on my own time clock so things get done when they get done.
No PT this morning so I'm taking it slow and easy. Hopefully, some progress pics this evening.
Thanks all for watching out for me......

"Bend me .Shape me. Any way you want me....."
Set up a make shift break and put the bend to the new skin.
It's better but i think it may need to roll under a bit more based on the rest of the quarter panel as well as the PS rocker which I believe to be untouched.
I'm not overly concerned as what ever I do on this side will probably be repeated on the other side. I will be forming a new patch for that quarter area so I will tie it all together some how.
And if I get that far. There will be a pice of chrome rocker trim covering all of this anyway.
That's it for now. Off to the store for some rust inhibitor.

woop woop

keep at it torchie! and almost everyone who replaces rockers at some point will say "I could have built my own with all the work it took to get these to fit", but I still like having the big bends done even if there is a lot of fitting needed.

More of the mundane.
Wire brushed and rust inhibitor coated.
Started to scrape away the old undercoating on the inner rear fenders.
Started on the pattern for the quarter panel patch.
Keep on keeping on....

Lots of bird poop welding and slicing of metal, today.
I guess I just wasn't feeling it.[;) [;)
Worked inner structure rust repair as well as starting to reshape the inner fender wells.
Thankfully none of this has to be pretty. Just strong. It will all get welded solid. Then sealed and then undercoated.
This is the PITA stuff that you NEVER see on the TV car shows.:rolleyes:[ddd
Thanks for stopping by. Have a safe Holiday everyone.

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

No worries, kenny.
Some of the crapiest looking welding iv'e ever done.
I think that part of it was the fact that my gun tip had lost it's insulation so If I even touched the metal it would ground out.( At least that's my story.)
I just wanted to at least get a start on slicing and tacking up that inner fender.
Taking a break today....
Torchie

Those welds will be fine. A lot of times it' the material your working with. If it is contaminated in any way you will have poopy results. Have a relaxing day.

It's hard to get a good lookin weld when, every time you strike an arch your pacemaker quits and you pass out [ddd[ddd[ddd
