I'm wanting to run a more traditional steering setup and ditch the C arm that connects to the drag link. I've seen guys use the F1 spindles on a model A or 30's Axle and what they do is cut the boss off that the steering arm and tie rod. They then smooth them out.

Something like this.

Has anyone done this recently or before that could steering me in a correct setup?

akerman geometry

I have done that. I used 50's olds spindles-brakes on a tube axle, But you lose the akerman geometry with a front mounted tie rod. the steering arms need to be as close to the tires as possible with a front tie rod. Ideal a V line thru the center of the rear end. thru the king pins and the tie rod ends, keeps the tires from dragging around turns,
