Not 100% sure what happened. I got about 30 miles on it and it lost the number for cylinder head gasket. That's what it look like when I popped it off it was burning antifreeze so what I'm thinking happened was I did not have a thermostat in it for the engine start up and break in. That way we didn't have any malfunctions with a thermostat and getting hot. I took off from a stop light under modern acceleration and I'm wondering if that head gasket was not seated all the way and with there being no thermostat it put too much pressure on it I'm not really sure you think it would have blown the other way but that is definitely not the case. The truck is back up and driving now what about 15 miles on it yesterday with absolutely no issues. Seems to be okay

Well the curse of ol rusty continues!??!

I went to dig it out of its snow pile today and take it for a cruise since the roads are clear. But the clutch wouldn't disengage. So I popped the hood to find no oil in the master cylinder reservoir. So I filled it up and it started leaking out around the spot where the reservoir plugs onto the master cylinder itself. After further investigation I found the master cylinder is cracked!!!

Just my luck. Summit is being super helpful and overnight shipping me a new one[cl

Got the clutch issue sorted out. Still snowing so no driving. But we got the head liner installed today and we put carpet in it at the beginning of the week!!

I'm changing the name of this build form ol rusty to pain in my A$$!!

It's never ending. CVF racing had to send me another power steering pump cause the first one was leaking, so I replaced that today. Then I noticed one of the 2 slim line fans on the radiator wasnt working. So I checked the wiring and it was fine. So I had to get a replacement on the way for that!!! I re sanded the bed floor down cause it had some things spots in the clear cause it was starting to rust. So I pounded 2 heavy coats on it so I hope that helps.

I did get to drive it alittle today and hauled 30 or so collapsed card board boxes in the bed. Hahahahaha

"Rust Never Sleeps", a great singer once said. The pics of ol' rusty are cool indeed. Most every build could be named "Pain In My Butt".

I've tried just clearing metal but, never gotten the metal to not rust no matter how many coats are on it.

I have had my 50 done in the clear forn8 years or so now. No rust. This stuff in use is designed for bare metal. It's not an auto clear. I sprayed it then it got driven on some semi wet roads that they had recently applied the junk they use for de icing the roads. It is the only thimg.i have found that will damage this clear and it does a really good job of it
