RPU followed me home

So now I gat another prblem.
So I have a chassis motor tranny already and a cowel,tank and back of a pickup ...
So then tis stuff comes up an offer I cant refuse. so picked it all up for 400 bucks.yaya...I know paid too much but mayby I can pick up a few pices for my pickup project.problem is don't need another project and not sure what to do with this RPU and not even shure if it is a real one or what year.Anyways just been cleaning wire wheeling all the rusty crap and not shure if I should get in deep thinking just try and wheel out the rust slap some rust converter on everything mayby get it running if motor is good as it turns over....ahhhhhrrggg decisions decisions too many projects....anyways here are some picks for your enjoyment.

I would of left the paint alone. Some cool patina even if it's fake.

Might as well stockpile all the old tin we can for safekeeping. Good for you.

Well guess your right the paint isn't original but it isn't fake either as its probably over 30 years old lets just agree to disgree .Just figure I should sand it smother as there are rust bubbles poping through and the paint is brush rough as well as would like to preserve a little better.Probably just do that try and get it running drive as is and work on it at the same time. found this thing that looks like a top framework any idea if it is and anybody got an idea on what year it may be.now I am into it more seems like it may be some sort of conversion from a sedan.

Possibly part of a according luggage rack maybe?

How come my post is only showing up in new posts and not where I posted it in rat rod and hot rod talk.

Not a bad price, those roadster parts are gold. I can't see the back, is it an actual pickup or the front of a touring car? That steering wheel facing backwards had me going. We find quite a few that were turned around like that for hay buckers or stackers. Then I see you just have it setting that way.

Think it may be a cut down touring car but cant find any picks of that front cowl section most are 28 29 style.
There is no back section on mine that leads me to think it was cutdown.I am just gonna make a plywood back.

It does kinda look like amybe it was a touring. The 30-31 roadster pickups had a nice curved back, not the squared off one like the 28-29

Ya think cut down touring car or coupe but I cant afford a 900.00 rear section from ebay.So will just be going with a plywood jalopy style back.

Maybe you could use the back section of a pickup. If you was closer I'd give you one.

Thx willowbilly ya could use the back of something mayby if I can find something....actually now that I think of it I have the back half of the rusty pickup in the picks I was gonna use just parts for my other cab... mmmmm well we will see don't get time to work on much during the week as trying to make a living so only get to work on my junk weekends and the wife always has a list for me....so time is at a premium....
