Hey This is a project I've taken on to resto this truck for a colleagues soon to be 18yr old son. Pretty nice 1st vehicle if you ask me. (luck little runt)
Its a 52 dodge pick up on a 75 ram charger frame 318 2 bbl auto trans...
Im lowering it 6 inches cutting out the completely rotted cab floor finding and installing a bench seat.
So far i've taken out 2 helper springs off the front suspension, cut out half the floor and made the distributor accessible by cutting away more of the fire wall.

nice[cl

on mine we used a wheelbarrow cut down for the dog house, worked good and looks pretty decent when it was finished.

Later:cool:

a wheel barrow is an interesting way to build a trans hump. Hmmmm i'll consider it. I was planning to use 16 gauge diamond plate steel ( extruded steel is $$$) and i've built an extruder but takes too much time. I also have to devise a removal access panel for the distributor. In the past i've used a 55 and 25 gallon drum cut in less than half then in a triangular down the side for the trans hump.

pics, get yer pics here

here are a few pics.

we built a flat area for the fuel pedal, the way we did the interior still leaves a lot of leg room.

Later

Nice work. I like the access door for the distributor. Of course it would have been a lot easier if it was on the right end of the engine to start with. :D
