Here is my new project and the progress from week 1 of the build. So far we have gotten the body welded back together and braced up and chopped. I straightened out the trunk lid that was caved in. We cut the posi-track rearend we are going to freshen up and use out of the tree it was growing into lol. Plus we setup our new shop and ordered everything we needed to start with and picked up a truck load of raw metal to start with.

I really like these bodies, wouldnt mind bring one back to life myself

Looking good so far

Looking good, love the mail slot back window! What's the style gonna be.....along the same lines as the Model A builds?

[P[P[P

It's a little different, but a similar style. I no longer do any work for the model A shop and we are trying to differentiate from them while maintaining our own style. Now it's me (Daryl Scott) and my friend Matt Crater building together and we are in no way associated with Slaughterhouse, Anonymous Mafia, or Sinners Hotrods or whatever name you know them by. Thanks for checking out my progress, I'm glad to be getting the positive feedback.:D

weeks 2 and 3

This weeks update photos. Me and Matt have been working on this car monday through friday for three weeks now, minus a little time here and there. So far we've gotten the body put back together and chopped, braced it up with a skeleton, started building a subfloor, got the main part of the frame put together which is no easy task, and got the door/trunk latches installed and working great among other things. By the end of next week it should really start looking like a car. Keep in mind this whole thing will still come completely back apart and have everything finalized. So any imperfections you might see, like spots that need some touch up welds, will all be taken care of when we take it back apart.

Updates

I fell a little behind on the build as well as the update photos. I was almost killed in a head on impact in my little shop truck. Some woman pulled right out in front of me in broad daylight as I was going down the highway around 50mph. I spent two weeks in the hospital, had to undergo 4 different procedures, have a broken femur which had to have a plate and screws, also developed multiple blood clots in each lung and have a fractured vertebrae. But I will live to customize another day. Here in a minute I will post the updated photos of the build progress before my near death experience. By the way medical helicopter rides are way too freakin expensive, It was 40k to fly me from Seymour IN to Louisville KY! Outrageous, just glad it won't be my responsibility, Hoping there's enough coverage left on her insurance for me to be able to see something in return for all the time I'm down from her stupidity after all the med bills are paid.

build progress

Before my wreck, Matt and I had made some killer progress on the coupe. We created a cool custom dash using an old bumper, I think from a chevelle, and a 57 chevy gauge cluster. Also we built a cool subfloor and skeleton to strengthen the body, laid all the sheetmetal inside, built a cool trans tunnel with a built in ratchet shifter to give it more of a race feel, got all the suspension set and essentially finished mocking up the car all together. Got all the sheetmetal patched up and ready for bodywork, had to hand make all the patch panels of course, and tore the car back apart for final fabrication and bodywork. more pics to follow!
