Finished my headlight mounts and attached the side panels on the grill. 1/4 inch pan headed allen bolts and some nut inserts. We call them RivNuts here.

I also finished off the end of the box rail. Just one corner so far so three more to go. 18 gauge steel and a 1/4 stock to triangulate and back it up. Welded, sanded and smoothed. [;)

Thanks for all of the positive comments guys.

I am not lowering the truck further. This is the ride height. I plan on driving it and Edmonton has S$%T for streets! I tend to drive hard. Besides to lower any further I need to raise the drive train to get oil pan and transmission clearance. Just not into it. :D

And it was the first day of real winter. Not that I'm complaining but I haven't even had time to acclimatize this year.

Yep, we have garbage streets here. Cool, that's a good looking ride height with the skinny tires!

Hey guys. I haven't been around much. Life cought up to three loved ones. Since Christmas three people I'm close to passed away. :(

But I'm back to work building a tail gate. Will try and get some pictures posted today. I've been working on it, just didn't take any pictures. Onward.

Tail gate

The tail gate is made out of two four foot lengths of 1 1/2 inch exhaust pipe and a couple of sixteen in pieces of 1/2 X 1 1/2 rectangular tubing for the ends. The panel is a 16 gauge mild steel. Welded to round tubing and welds all smother off.

more tail gate

I needed to add a return to cover the area where the tail gate met up with the box side. More 16 gauge.

Tail gate hing

My plan is to have a hidden hinge system. so I used the bushing end off an old steering stabilizer from my jeep. Cut and modified to fit into the 1 1/2 tubing. one on each end. I am cutting down some spare parts to make hing pins that will be welded to a plate. The pins, which will be welded to the plates, slide into the rubber bushing, then the hinges are bolted with stainless hardware to the box side. All that will show is the stainless hardware. The tail gate and hinge will need to be installed at the same time.

More pictures to follow.
