Default 460 gurus question

I found a 78 town car for sale with a 460 2 barrel. I can't find anything that says they ever put a 2 barrel on a 460. I suppose it could be off a 429 but looks unmolested. This was the last year for the 460 in a car and they were shuffling to meet emissions and the 400 was in some of them.
No carb tag that I could see. Any thoughts? thanks

Yeah, 429s had them. I have a 71 Merc 429 2 barrel. Still has the D0VE heads and like 10.5 to one compression.

One of those strange & rare options very few chose? (I mean really, who orders a 460 with a 2bbl?)

Stranger things have happened, no matter the make... I'd be scouring that piece for numbers!

Not that far out of the realm of possibilities, especially in weird smog era cars. I know BOP used 2BBLs on 455s...
