Default Jailbar Ford

Today the farmer that sold me all the trucks called and said he had another one so I stopped in to look at it. It is only a 1 ton and it made me notice something different on the 3 ton I already brought home.
The front fenders on the 3 ton have a two in extension inserted in them to widen the truck would this be a factory installed option?

Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

It is factory on the 3 ton, pretty rare. I've seen pictures of 2 or three on the FTE 47 and older forums

Probably so they could use the same sheet metal over the wider track 3 ton front end.

Now that I think of it, the others were Canadian too, maybe only available there. Canadian Fords have a lot of anomalies, different serial numbers ect.
