"Easy like Sunday Morning." Yeah. Right.:p
The calvary arrived and we pulled out the donor Dodge.
Cleaned things up and then set up the hood and front fenders.
No I can start to work on the front end when i'm not under the car. [;) [;)
That's it for me for today.
Going to spend the rest of it in rest and contemplation.[S:p[ddd
Keep on keeping on.....
Torchie.

Today was a lost day.
Woke up with a bloody toe.
This happened several times a while ago and it had subsided..until today.
The Drs have never been able to identify why it happens, and couldn't again to day.[S
Just dress it and keep an eye on it.
Back at it tomorrow. I hope.
Spent the morning listing extra parts for sale to see if I can generate some project funds.

1 Mount pad down. 9 more to go.:eek::eek: [;) [;)

You're a machine Torchie. I hope your toe is better.

Well parts of me are.... Toe is doing good. Thanks, Bill.

wow, nice work torchie! [cl[cl[cl
Thanks joedoh.
Another day. Another mount.
This is the DS boxed in one.
Very stout.
All 16 Gauge.:)
I also messed a a bit with mocking up peaking the hood.
I used 1/8 rod around the tail lights and license plate recess.
I'm think 3/16 on the hood as 1/8 sits into the seam too far.
The first hood pic shows the factory seam cover. This runs from the hood ornament down to the lower hood lip. I will remove this.
Thanks for stopping by.
Keep on keeping on......

Torchie, you are out working me and I'm not missing any body parts. The body mount work is sure unglamorous but needs to be done. Yes, you are saving the unsavable. Hats off to you.

Doing my best to push through this portion of the fun.:p
I told Mrs T.
If there is anything left of this car 40 years from now it will be these mounts.[ddd

Cool [P[P

Thanks Dozer.:)
More of the same....yet different.
One more DS mount in. That leaves 2 on the DS.
The very front one ties into the firewall. I think as there is nothing really left of it on either side. So that oine will be last and may not happen until I do some rust repair on the bottom of the cowl.
So up next will be the rear most on the DS. Under the trunk area.
I also started to do a little bit of unfinished things.
Plug welded in the DS rocker and cut off the excess inner rocker that was hanging below it.
Time to take a break as I was getting stupid clumsy and got tired of picking up tools.

Torchie all geared up for more underbody rust removal.
This is at the very rear of the floor pan.
You can see the new square tubing I put in when I repaired the trunk floor lip.
This is a boxed in area that goes from side to side. A big dirt and moisture trap.
I'm not doing any replacement of this until I see how the body fits on the S 10 frame.
Time to move on to the PS inner rocker.
Continued stripping the hood. that black factory coating is like tar. It loads up everything but the openest grit discs.
Keep on keeping on.

Glad to see you taking good health precautions, Torchie. I missed something along the way, when did you go from G-Body frame to S10... I feel like you went from G body to something else in between?

Lol
I sold the g body when I got the donor Dodge as I was assured the frame on it was good, snopro.
A guy saw the cutlass and offer me way more then I paid for it even without the parts I had already sold.
So of course that determined that the donor Dodge frame would be toast as well.
I picked up the 2 wheel drive S-10 this winter.
It’s the extended cab short box model that puts the wheel base within a half inch of the Dodge. If that as some list it as 123 inch wheel base. The Dodge is 123.5.
Plus the front track width is with in a half inch of the Dodge.
I have read where others have used the S 10 for this era of cars so the kick up behind the rear axle isn’t in surmountable.
I may even run the 4.3 unit as a cost saving measure.
So now your all caught up till tomorrow when things may change yet again.🙀😜😎

man youre busy !! keep it up

Thanks 23.
Doing something on it every day.
Earlier I talked about painting the car and that I was going to explore some of the newer methods of primer and paint.
Well I explored and said hell no.
I'm doing this one in Lacquer.
I've got 2 unopened gallons of lacquer primer in my paint cabinet. A 5 gallon can of lacquer thinner is on it's way. Pro bono. All my old spray guns are set up for lacquer or single stage anyways.
Plus it's not that much more of a cost increase.
So good old lacquer it will be.
Now. To get to that point....:p
