My good friend borrowed the ram 3500 and a rear tire blew and destroyed the fender.
He felt terrible about it and is replacing it.
I told him i am just glad he didnt get hurt!
This is another reason why I like dually trucks.
He still had 3 drive tires back there and could have limped for miles
Even with the trailer

Update on the truck mess.
I just found a steel flatbed for less than a replacement fender costs!
I am going to go talk to the man this afternoon.

After you get the flatbed, you can sell the original bed and end up with money in the bank. Perfect Ram3500 bed. All it needs is a fender.

Itll clean up okay
And i hated the idea of putting a third exploding fender on it

Are your tires going stick out on the sides. Dually rear ends are wider than regular 1tons or at least they used to be.

I admit i forgot to measure for that.
But it did come off of a 2005 ram 3500.
And when i first looked at it i thought it looked like a square almost. Because it was so wide
But it is 8 feet long

The flatbed is one foot too narrow.
I am thinking of adding a 2x6 of pressure treated wood on each side and then adding the heavy steel rails with tie downs on them.

Be pretty easy to fab an extension out of heavy angle, so your wood fits in the step of the angle, with the flat part to the outside with your stake pockets and tie downs there.
