One last comment on my *last* ebay sale. After selling a set of Texas license plates I got the bill today... they now charge 10%! Seriously?!? 10%!?! Who do they think they are... Barrett-Jackson!?! :eek::eek::eek:

They've been charging 10+ on certain items for a long time. I figure it takes !5% with paypal.
Or I can take my stuff to a local consignment auction with 50 potential bidders and pay 20% or more. Which is the better deal?
My choice.
 
Like Billy said, just start everything out at the amount you want to get, plus all the fees. In other words, if you want $10 for an item, start it out at $20. That's the only way to come out on there anymore.
 
It sucks for the consumer and us normal guys who just want to make a fair deal.
But passing costs to the consumer is how businesses work.

find that sort of increase here in New Zealand too...

I got so ratty in the end it just wasn't worth the fees to sell stuff cheap to fellow rodders ,, it really only succeeded in increasing the market value of stuff...

that dam facebook -- now I host a hot rod / rats parts for sale on facebook..
