the tijuana toad!

starting on my daily driver,

me and rockb1 worked out a deal on this buick.

its a 1956 special more door.

black with some kool green interior a 322 nail head and gansta white bias ply's

drove it home 215 miles last weekend. then rebuilt the carb.

started on the body work today the only rust is the rocker panels on both sides and someone patch'd the pass, side already. just gonna do a quick n dirty for now.

thinking satin black, with the roof and lower front half painted silver metallic and south of the border turquoise metalic fades and effects.

heres a few of the color combo's the turquoise doest really show up well its more green than blue..

some of the top, messing around with faded colors and the airbrush, thinking bout doing large ROTH silver then panel fade some shapes, lace and flames in the turquoise, and doing the bottom between the front/rear tires the same way. gonna fill in the trim for the rear and just use the trim down the side and ending up right in front of the back tires.

more today but the paints taking forever to dry.... got some yellow highlites to put on the left frog then he's done lots to do on the other and then add more colors to the pinstripes. dp1

thanks guys this one was pretty easy due to a prevous body job, only real work is the rockers and some chrome. gonna use it to pull the crush up to billetproof michigan then drive em both in,(just dont wanna drive the crush 120 miles with open headers.....)

made my own grille to replace the broken one used stuff laying round the shop.

threw on some lake pipes

finished up the rockers and the 2 tone paint(its more green than it looks in the pics. popped on the side trim.

finished up the "toads" and outlined the lettering.

went for a nice long cruise.

i must say, besides getting used to bias ply tires again, it was a great boat, er. i mean car ride.... dp1
