Is there a need for a panhard bar in that setup? just wondering
Nope. It's triangulated and the springs wouldn't let it move sideways anyhow. Right off, I'm not sure that's a good idea to triangulate with leaf springs - I'd want to seriously evaluate stresses on them.
Does that even need to be triangulated using leafs like that?

Yea it needs something to stop lateral movement, the 20 degree angle on the upper links is the key there...

Same thing as my rear suspension only I triangulated mine wide on the axle and narrower on the mounts, plus I have more angle on the upper links. It works great, rides nice, hooks up good and goes straight as an arrow when I hammer it.

It seems that without triangulation or panhard bar that the bushings in the leaf springs would deflect enough to cause issues

My bushings are brass and the pins are hollow with grease fittings. If you think about it, there aren't any stresses that the front of a parelell leaf doesn't withstand.

Darrell Zipp's shop used to be a few miles from my place, the Orange Zipper car, belongs to a friend of mine who used to work for Darrell. Now he has his own shop. The white one is a local guy too.
Darrell sold the business a few years back, but he has a lot of history locally.
He always turned out some nice cars, and the new guys are using his old plans.
