Default ls1 eng?

Just picked up a ls1 eng out of a montecarlo. Is there any demand for this early model eng?
Mis print LT1. Not LS
Sorry.

The first version LT1's ('70-'72) are desirable, at least they were to "old school" builders and guys looking for a hot engine swap... 4-bolt mains, forged steel crank, big valves, small chambers, etc., etc.

Is it running? How do you know it's an LT1? I'm curious. Do you have an engine code? It'll be stamped on the pass. side deck "pad" if it's still there...

LT1's have the water pump driven off the cam so they're unmistakable. They also pump water backwards if I'm not mistaken so cooled water goes to the heads 1st to cut down on detonation so they can run higher compression!

Had one in my Nova for years. Ran great & got good gas mileage... not sure about their resale value!
