As of 6 pm PST, the 40G became a roller. Everything settled exactly where I anticipated, so I am pretty happy! To me, the 2x4 under the front tire is a great sign!:D

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. When this rain stops, I'll roll it out onto my driveway for a good look. I have to be careful though, my driveway is pretty steep!

Your truck looks good from any angle but I especially like the front view. Where did you get the front axle?

This thread has been great, you could write a book on the build for sure. Thanks for posting.[cl

Thank you very much Rusty. I am glad you're enjoying it. Stay tuned as I soldier on... next is steering! [;)

Thank you Bob, I think that is my favorite view too. I can't really get a good side picture because my garage is so full of goodies. Strangely, in every semi-side picture I take, the truck looks kinda gangly at the transition between the cab and bed. In person, the truck doesn't look gangly, it's really well proportioned (if I do say so myself:D) which is a huge pet peeve of mine.

The whole front end is from Speedway. It is a 6" dropped, spring-behind, hairpin front end. It is very well thought out, however I did have to "adjust" a few things to get them to fit. It is a hot rod after all!

This week wasn't too good for progress on the truck, too busy everywhere else. However, I did manage to get the "cage" built and installed for the fuel cell. Gonna build some hold-downs next.

A couple of weeks ago we made a trip to Reno. But, even though I don't drink, smoke, do drugs or gamble, I left Reno $800 lighter thanks to Summit Racing in Sparks. :D I picked up my fuel cell, a trans mount, a Griffin radiator and one (would have been two but they only had one left!) Kirkey seat. So, I'll have more to show later.

Hey, thats still progress!
Also, you have a roller, change that profile pic! =)

Yeah, I figure even an hour out in the garage is an hour further along. That's a good point! I'll use this front picture until I can get a good side shot.

Wow, that thing looks awesome! [cl[cl[cl

Thanks SF, I appreciate it. Stay tuned!

Man, it's coming along nice. The framing around the fuel cell is top notch.

Thanks Bob!

I was able to get into the garage for a while today. I made one hold-down for my fuel cell. My original design was a bit more elaborate so my wife came up with this design. I think it turned out pretty good.

Also, I was able to roll the rig outside for the first time! It was really nice to finally get a good side view of it. I saw a couple of minor things that I will adjust, but I am really happy with the scale, stance, proportions and so on. Can't wait to get it running!

the stance is killer! [cl

Thanks Man, I am really happy with it too.

I started my seat mounts today so, if they turn out right, I'll have some pictures up soon. I want to get my seats in and positioned before I start work on the steering.

[dr Love the "outdoors" pics!

Thanks Snake, I appreciate it!

I rolled it out of the garage by myself and luckily I was wise enough to lay a 4x4 block on the roof before I did. As soon as the rear tires cleared the garage, it took off! I was trying to hold it with one hand and as it rolled I grabbed the block off of the roof with my other hand and pitched it in front of the rear tire. Fortunately, it landed correctly and stopped the truck. Close one! [cl
