Time to work on lowering the headlights from their stock height.

I want to get them down like this, about 3" lower

I also want to incorporate these
41 Plymouth (or Dodge?) park lenses into the new pedestals as turn signals.

I sure hope the owner appreciates all the work you're putting into this, it's going to look incredible when it's all done. Nice to see you're getting a bit done in the shop.

Thanks Colin. Yeah, he's a very patient guy - I worked for him for 20 years and did work on his 37 Packard Roadster in the mid 80's after hours. He's had that car since the late 60's and it is finally just about ready for the road!! Talk about long range plans....

Is the roadster a restoration or modified?

Is the roadster a restoration or modified?

It's a modified, 425 Nailhead from a 66 Riv with the original 2 4bbls, hooked the the Packard 3 spd OD tranny with an adaptor from the 60's. Since the pics it has been painted and upholstery nearly done.

Mounted the base plates to the fenders and tacked the headlights in the position I want them with some 1/4" rod that is also tacked to top plates that are bolted to the underside of the headlights.

Working on the pedestals for a couple hours today and after looking at the pics, I've decided to hate 'em  The signal lens needs to be centered on the upright and the squared bottom edge doesn't look right either... Oh well, it's just the one and it's only tacked together so back to the drawing board.[S[;)

What would it look like with the TS lens turned over? Pointed end up? Wide end on wide bottom part of stand, narrow on top near headlight?

If you leave it like it is, it needs to be closer to the headlight.

Turned it!
Needs a rethink for sure, don't think turning the lens upside down
would look right, the top edge has a slight curve that matches the headlight shape....

When you started I had envisioned the turn signal lens closer to the headlight bucket and the lower being more tapered to almost a point . I am sure you will figure it out.[;)[P[P
