More progress, getting things buttoned up on the engine, seats and GM steering column in, wiring mostly done and gauges in, floor finished, exhaust finished.

Front fenders and grille shell painted and put on. The headlights, mounts and grille surround had been re-chromed so I saved some there - got rid of the original cheese grater grille and made an insert from stainless rod for a tidier look. At this point it's apparent that the front end is a bit high - needs a coil cut out of the front springs.

They came from a mid 80's Nissan Sentra - they seem better made than a lot of the US cars of the same era and were narrow enough to fit.

Thanks
They do need to be narrow so they will fit the square bodied cars and trucks.

I cut 1 coil from the front springs and mounted the Coker WW tires with American Racing chrome smoothie rims, height looks much better. I made the bumpers from 5"x1/2" aluminum bar stock, first the front one though I wasn't happy with the smiley look it ended up with... . Next I made the rear one and was happier with the design - back to the metal store for another chunk of bar stock...

The stance and rear bumper are dead nuts on. I have to agree with you on the front bumper, just doesn't look quite right.

Some pics of the finished interior, did it all in cloth, seems cozier than vinyl and gave it a more retro look.
