I had a build thread, but life and health issues got in the way, so I figured I'd start another one. I've changed directions anyway, going with a 38 chevy straight axle, transverse spring and fenderless on the front. I had a complete Mus II front susp on it and hated it, so I wacked it off at the firewall and sold it. You all have been a ton of help on here, answering dumb questions and so forth. Figured with a build thread and pics, at least you can point out my mistakes. I have a disc brake change over, steering arms and a column ordered from Ron Pope. He has everything else to put the axle under it soon as I get the money. I'm putting a 454 in my chevelle, it's ready to set in, going to put a 3.08 in the 12 bolt and make a good cruiser out of it. The 434 in it will go in the 40, or at least that's the plan so far. Got a tunnel ram with 2 650 DP's on it, may use that also. 8.8 rearend I narrowed out of a explorer, built my own 4 link, and that's about it right now. Got some more work to do on my 84 K10, get the motor in the chevelle and then I can concentrate on the 40. I'll gather parts until then. I'll post some pics, will be more later.

Here is a few.

Some more. Anyone know of some 15x10 or wider steel wheels with a 3 or 4 in BS? I found some but I could buy new alum wheels for what they want for them. I would like to run steel wheels with small caps, something in a 15x4 or 5 on the front.

I had one of those way back when.:D
The pic is circa 1975. I'm the one in the overalls.
327 backed by a Muncie 4 speed. 57 Chevy rear end. Fun car.

Speedway has a pretty good selection of steel wheels at decent prices:

And I've seen 15 x 10 Rally wheels on Ebay for $85

Finding fronts to match your choice should be pretty easy.

I really like the JD wheel, Halibrand replica for the rear, they're reasonably priced. They have a 15x4.5 also.
