Got the firewall in, tunnel done so I screwed with the steering column. Found out I have more room with the bench seat. Might have to sell the speedway low backs and get this one recovered. Used a SBC alum rod for the column drop, had to make an adapter where it clamps the column. Fabbed a lower support for the column and with the double u joint, everything seems to spin good and smooth. Need to get the dash finished up now.

Working on the seat tracks, you would think that Speedway"s tracks would fit their seats but I found that wasn't the case. Got the gauge holes cut in the dash, it needs something else but I don't know what it is yet.

Beefed up the steering arm, got the dash stuck in to see what it looks like. Went and bought some 1 in flat steel today so I can finish the seat tracks. Got my small heater I ordered in today, it ought to be easy to hide behind the dash with no problem. Might look into a different master cyl set up, I don't want it on the firewall. I'm using 9 inch rotors with gm metric calipers on the front with 11.75 rotors in the rear with the bigger gm calipers, wonder how one of the floor mounts, dual mc, that wilwood has would work? I'd need 2 1 inch bore master cyl I'd think. With the gear box where it's at, that may not work. Need to do a little research and measuring.

Thanks, I hope by late spring at least, that thing called money keeps getting in the way. I need suggestions on color, I'm thinking the old stand by Hot Rod satin black. I have a gallon of bright white with activator, I want something that says hot rod and doesn't show imperfections. This is a driver and I'm all over the cleaning, rubbing and worried about a scratch or a chip. I'm going to try and do some old skool pin striping, got to do a little practice work first. I've been looking at some of Custom shop's flatz colors, brown or copper color would look good. Maybe someone has some pics or suggestions.

Messing around with colors, what do you all think of these? I don't think they'd show any dings or dents I've missed. TCP Global/Custom shops have reasonable prices, single stage urethane is what I want, nothing fancy. They have a lot of the flatz colors.

I got the brake problem worked out, found a under dash assy on ebay for $115, had to do some trimming on it but I got it in the small space. Going to be a little tricky to fill but I'll manage. I braced it really good, pedal is where I want it and it's got a 7-1 ratio. Redid my steering arm, now you can get to the grease fitting. Got a call today saying my engine machine work is done. 427 BBC, .030 over, I set it up for boost, JE pistons, upgraded wrist pins, rings are JE for boost, H beam rods, steel crank. I had the block decked, ARP main studs and aligned bored. I'm going with 425 HP heads with a tunnel ram and 2 600 holleys for now. 657 lift hyd roller with all MSD ignition. 350 turbo is done, coan parts with a 3200 stall converter.I'm hoping to make some considerable progess in the next couple months.

I haven't got lost, I got the under dash master cyl assy installed, worked out great, plenty of room for a gas pedal. I pulled the body, fuel cell battery rack deal that unbolts. and some other stuff off. I then turned the frame over and welded up everything on the bottom. Flipped it back over and installed the rear end again so I could make all the shock mounts. Also run a couple beads on the dash to make it look a little better. Once I make sure the front axle and rear end are all squared up I'll pull everything out to primer and paint the frame. Made a stainless screen deal to go in the radiator shell, forgot to get a pic of that. I was going to fab the radiator mounts but I forgot to do it before I pulled the body. I'll get some more pics shortly.

I'm going to put a roll bar in also, maybe a 4 or 6 point. I will beat on this thing some and I keep thinking about that heavy BBC with steel heads. A lot of wt.

A couple more pics, rad shell screen I fitted in there and a primered frame. Still got to weld in a driveshaft loop.
