cutting

trying to get the darn body to hang right, the doors able to open and to be in the correct area for climbing in and out may require splitting the front doors & using sections of the rear doors to lengthen them from 37 inches long to 47 inches long.

this, of course will require cutting the door jams/frame and roof to be moved backwards for the extra door length.

then the roof pieces l have from when it was cut in two can be used to fill in the gap, just like when ya chop a top.

quick crude drawing at 1:3O am just give an idea of where were heading.

doors

good to hear CC[cl

when the doors go on we will try and use the rear part of the back doors with the slanted post on the back 1/2 so the rear door jam slants foreward.

Dr. Crankenstein did a photshop that is real close to the concept of what were are trying to get it to look like.

Hey Skull

It almost seems like the cage doesnt wanna be under that body. When I was a kid back in the early 1980's I built a Camaro oval track "hobby-car" and I put a cage out of a full sized Chevelle into it. What I did is I split the cage right down the middle...many many hours with tape measure in hand ended up cutting over a foot out of it to get it to fit....
Maybe a thought for you to think about....cut that whole cage at the base of the 4 door posts...cut the cage into 4 pieces...mock up the body the way you want it to look like on what is left of the frame rails....then fit the 4 pieces (shortened of course) back into the body mockup....
Just a thought....my smelly old 2 cents...

Oh yeah...I go to sleep too at night trying to figure out how to cut and fit rusty metal...

trimming

yea mike, we are going to have to do some cutting on the cage to get the body fitting better, thanks for the idea if the one l have don't work out.[cl

seems like this thing is fighting us at every turn to go together as quick as l want.

but when ya take 2 or more things that were not designed to work as a unit with one built in the 194O's and one built in the 2OOO's these things are to be expected.

it ain't easy but it's still is fun.

And that is why God has us invent

Cutting torchs, welders, hack saws, sawsalls, grinders, cutting wheels, tape measures, and all the tools we need to to make two or three...into one...amen....:D

doors

figured out the door on the passenger side front door only needs a little trimming to fit and then graft the rear door to extend the over all door length on that side and life will be good[;)

driver side doors, MAJOR MODS to the chassis to get it on[S
