little covid lockdown project.
Last year I purchased an Eckold hand held pneumatic planishing hammer. It`s time to build a frame for it... so, instead of building a whole new frame, I purchased this old tapping machine last week. It has a nice heavy base and 6" cast column. The top of the machine can roll up & down about 5" which enables me to get my panels in even with big flanges and such. I tore the whole thing down and cut plates for the upper arm which will hold the hammer later on. I`ll get some pics tomorrow. ![]() Last edited by dutch; 12-15-2020 at 04:40 PM. |

My machinist friend does all milling and turning for this thing. The spindle housing will get a solid 2" shaft which will hold the main bolts for the upper arm. On the other end a quick release clamp will hold the hammer.
Got a start... ![]() |
