Liquid jewelers rouge. There are different grades of abrasive, green is pretty coarse, the white is real fine. You put it on like a polish, manually or with a buffer, then wipe it off with a soft rag. On heavily oxidized pieces, you start with green, then go to the white to finish it up. You can find it in any big truck stop store like Petro or TA.

My auto parts store carries it as well but in a paste form.

It also comes in a stick form.

thanks guys, I pass a big truck stop everyday on my way home, I'm gonna look into this!:D[cl

Stopped by the pick-n-pull to pick up a tail light harness for the Chevy and left with a harness....and scored a set of flow-masters off a caprice with all the pre- bent pipe for under $40:D Looks like I'll be running those headers after all... I was concerned about the cost of running new exhaust on the car... not anymore :)

here is a shot of what she will hopefully look like when I get it changed over to mine....

Was that a stock image or the car in the junkyard?
If it's the one in the JY, grab those swaybars and the bushings that go with them, too. I just put a Hotchkis kit on my truck, they're awesome. Check the springs & shocks as well, the full suspension kits are pretty complete.

that shot was just an example, otherwise I'm with you I would have grabbed those goodies... It did have a new set of air shocks and springs.... but that's because it was on 26" ... not for me.. I'm trying to get low :D

roadtrip

Sure wish things would've lined up better yesterday… :(
I was looking forward to a meet up and seeing the 50 in person… Next time!;)

CC, what are you going to do about the gas filler neck sticking way out past the trunk?

hmmmmm[S

OPTION A:
Cut it off with a torch!

OPTION B:
Leave it alone....

OPTION C:
Cut it back with a port-a-ban (no sparks that way) and install a rubber/poly 90 degree boot through the back gravel pan....

Option D:
Spend $250 on a new tank hangers and sender and swap the fuel tank.

I'm thinking about option C... just have to rind the rubber 90 and get to work on it :D

Moving along....under it's own power

Ahhh yes, the saga continues...

Out with the 305... in with the 327 Roller!!!

Things went pretty smooth yanked the old 305 and slide the 327 in went ahead and beat the headers into submission (just a small dimple was all it took) and welded the pipes and hangers up.[;) I learned something new about those flex pipes...THEY FLEX & TWIST... Anyways... it will work for now i'll have to add a couple more hangers and eventually get those replaced with solid pipe, but at least the headers aren't deafening me while she is running. Had a  moment when I filled the radiator up with water and water was leaking out of the water pump. I was  then after [S and being  :D dummy me cut the bottom of the passenger side water pump gasket off[cl.... so tore the PS pump and alt off and fixed it, threw it all back together and finally about 8 got it fired up!!!!!
