Just picked up a 40 ford cab for 200 with title.
the plan is to start a rat rod build as soon as some funding comes in.
the plan was to use a VW front beam with a 4cly diesel engine for a fuel effecent rod,
but then the idea changed to putting the cab on a vw pan with the air colled vw engine and hidding the engine with a bed and slamming the front beam to the front of the cab.
but now im looking at a old ford rv with a 460 with 80k on it that is just the E-series cab with flat bed. 1 ton. the guy wants 900. so i would z the frame and shorten it and mount the 40 cab on it.
but im so indecisive ill probably change my mind next week.
i just want to do something extremely different and anyone else. i guess we'll see after next pay day.

ill get some pics up of the cab.

pics of 40 ford cab

finally figured out how to post pictures.

Hope you injoy more to come of the deconstruction of the RV!!!!

this morning

unloaded the cab onto the e-series chassis for the mock up to see what my next step is. channeling the body and mounting the cab is the plan.

i will be removing the doors later today and welding in some square tubbing to hold the shape while i create the new floor. im planing on using what i can of the floor that came out of the e-350 (its leaning up by the end of the truck). if anyone has any advise on this please let me know. This is my first rat build.
