A little more progess to report. I haven't been able to finish the front suspension. I'm waiting on delivery of some parts, the control arms, spindles and coil overs, as I need to know exactly where the shocks are and at what height before I trim and fit the upper mounts. I was expecting them to show up early this week, but so far I haven't seen anything. While waiting, I started to install the rear links. After much measuring, checking and remeasuring I installed the lower links, and just started making up the boxing plates for the upper links. Hopefully I'll find time in the next day or two to weld all this up.

Still waiting on a few of my goodies to show up, so i tacked up and prepped the rear frame for the step notch. Nothing welded in place yet - the weather got so nice this afternoon that I had to get outside! Cold and rain in the forecast for tomorrow, so I'll get back at it.

Spent some time on the rear crossmember - I wanted to get it fab'd up and installed before I start rolling the frame around for final welding. Truth be told, this is version 2.0 of the rear cross member. I had to stagger the tube in order to have adequate clearance for the rear end, and my first attempt put the end welds right in the opening of the step notch! So, I staggered the tubes back and it looks like I'd planned it that way from the beginning. :) I started welding the tops of the step notch but I'm running low on gas (literally and figuratively!). I need to pick up some more gas before I can continue.

box

are you gonna box the frame while it is torn down this far[S

they look great.

it helped a lot with the frame on Alice when we did the C-notch in her to box the frame for added strength.

carry on[;)[;)[;)

Later

Thanks Joe, I can't take all the credit for the step notches - WelderSeries up here supplies the kit for that. Takes all the "thinkin" out of it.

Skull - I'm still undecided whether to box the rest or not. I've read both sides of the story, some say its not necessary, others say they have. I'm still looking at what to do. I figure I'll wait until I get everything all welded up, and possibly even install the motor and tranny before I see how stiff it feels.
