34 Ford 5 Window Coupe Hot Rod

I'm changing the stock 34 steering box because it has a lot of play on center and it's really hard to steer. I changing to a F1 box that should make it easier to steer. The one I have seems to have no play at center.

But man what a pain to remove the old one. Can't go out the bottom because the stock wishbone is in the way maybe I should have split them. I'm going to have to go out the top. So I'll have to remove the carpet and floor board.

I can see right now the bigger F1 box is going to be a pain going in. Why didn't Henry make the 33-34sjust a hair bigger!

Finally got the F1 steering box rebuilt and installed. Not a bolt on project. A F100 box would have worked better. I'll know this next time.
The box is really close to the header but if I moved it over it rubs the clutch pedal.

Just took the car for a spin. Steers much better with the newer box. Drives like it's only 60 years old.

Every time I see this car it makes my pants tight! such a great score.

Did a couple of little things today. Fixed a few things, adjusted the brakes and went for a short drive.
Put on a spare tire cover.

While at the show I had local pinstriper, sign painter, artist Bob Padilla do some of his magic on the car.
