Be careful with those. Back in the late 70s early 80s they were installed on a lot Datsun pick ups where I worked. They create quite a blind spot because you sit at the same level as most traffic.

So today, decided to tackle another piece I had been putting off for quite some time. When I would air up or down the front, the steering wheel would spin like mad because the drag link was not parrallel with the four bars. Today, I fixed that by making a longer pitman arm. Used a piece of 1/2” plate and the ends from the current pitman arm. Welded everything together using my tig welder, and whalla, new and improved arm. Once I got it mounted, I had to bend it a few times to make sure that it cleared the front tire.

Got my jr west coasties in yesterday and decided to install them today. I’d say they are way more fitting now. I will be the envy of the trailer park for sure. I need a few more nutserts to finish the install but I’m happy with the way they came out.

So today, I finished up the westy mirrors, replaced the thermostat o-ring, and put some plexi glass in for a temporary windshield and quarter windows. All in all, she’s about as ready for Vegas as she could be. So for those of you going to RCR, I will see you there.

Made it to Vegas and back safely. I was a little disappointed with the show as it seamed every other vehicle was Cummins powered but it was fun. Probably not going to go back, for a while at least. I did have issues with the car overheating so I didn’t cruise the strip. I will be adding a secondary water pump to get the temps down at a stop. Going down the road she won’t go over 200 but once it sits for 5 minutes or more she starts to climb and won’t come back down. Thinking the High Plains Riot would be more fun. If you want to see all my pictures, check out my Facebook page. It is public so even if you don’t have an account, you will be able to see them. There are just too many to post here and apperently my flkr account is too full to upload anymore.

Glad you made it there and back Safely.
Seems like the Cummins is the hot thing right now. Next year it will be something else....
