Like I don't have enough stuff going already! But the price was right. I think I can scrap the beds, bad motor and big truck rear and be into them for $0 to +$150. Ideas? Lol :D

I have 1 days labor (about 8 hours) into this one. It is a 69 1/2 ton, very rusty cab, dead 307 sbc 3spd stnadard. But it does have an edelbrock intake, carb and aluminum valve covers as well as dash, glass and disc brakes.

This one I have $150 cash into. It is a 67 1 ton dump truck, 327 sbc truck 4 spd, PTO and dump all work, cab is not bad (read needs rockers, door bottoms and one floor brace) but it has a sterling rear end and the dreaded split rims of death. Dump body is rusted out too. There is a pair of sold doors in the bed as well.

I think this is a little too heavy for my trailer....[cl Yes my GMC is a K3500 and the rear wheels are just barely touching the ground!!

Sometimes when you don't all the grease and oil of you. These stay rides will sniff you out and follow you home. It has happened to me many times. It's the risk of pursuing a gearhead life style. On the other hand I would have done the same thing. Killer deal ya made.

You've done a fine job of collecting, jfg, and maybe by the time you need a bed, one of them will find you.
I have to carry a switch now to whack any would-be helper who suggests that I take this old car home.

Two more things may be in your favor here.
If the engine in the 69 is an original 307, that is the same block that was used for 327's. 327 rods crank n pistons will go in it if you bore the block to 4".
If the engine in the 67 dump truck is original, it will most likely have a forged, steel, large journal, crank.

Here's numbers if you don't have them already

That's good info Old Iron. It's been a while since I dealt with the sbc interchange stuff. I knew the 307 crank was one to keep but [clcouldn't remember which one it was.

good looking trucks you got there!

side not on the split rims, not all of them are bad if they have aged well many of them are fine to use. The ones you want to watch for are the ones designed and manufactured by firestone called RH5° these split in the center.. Half the rim is formed by the inner portion and half of the rim formed by the outer portion. These were dangerous because they held water and didnt age well, and the way they locked together was hidden and you couldn't tell if it was seated properly before inflating..
