Default Might trade my coupe for a larger car.

As much as I try, I'm having a hard time getting comfortable in my coupe. Short of un-channeling it two or three inches (which would be a real hassle, I don't see any way to gain more headroom.

If anyone has a larger (later) coupe that runs and is ready to drive, or a mid-50's Ford or Chevy two-door in the same condition, I may be willing to trade. I really like this car, but I'm just not sure it's for me.

i like the 40s sedans myself ,, my 30-31 chevy truck is tinny , my knees are on the dash ,, other than not having a back in the seats ,, aint nothing I can do with it either , You wonder how the big or tall folks operated these things back in the 20s and 30s a smaller fellow wouldnt have a problem

I hear you! That's the main reason I'm thinking of doing something different. I like to drive my cars a lot, and this one makes it not so much fun.

I'd like to find a fully-functional car that I can drive as I change stuff on it, like I have been on this one. If not, I guess I'll tackle un-channeling the coupe.

My truck is not channeled at all and its still not a comfortable ride , my 49 f-1 is going to be a lot better as far as comfort . I set a reg. bucket seat in it about 5 " off the floor and its got plenty of leg room and with the 4' chop its the right height to see out the windows with-out bending your head down , I think I'm going to be very happy with it when I'm all done with it . My 30 chevy will just have to be what it has been ,,, just a parade rider or run to town for a min. truck

Lightbulb chop

listening to you guys l am glad l did not chop the 3OlSH, it is hard enough to get in & out of now and seeing is a challenge at stop lights. if this thing was chopped it would make it useless to me.

Later

My coupe really isn't hard to get out of or into, but headroom is nearly non-existent. I'm 6'2", but only have a 32" inseam. I'm pretty long from the waist up. A friend of mine sits in it fine, and he's over 6'. If I can't trade it off or sell it, I'll look seriously at un-channeling it, but that will be a big hassle, the way it's put together.I knew it was going to be tight, but loved the body so much I figured I'd figure out a way to deal with it. I did drive it over 5,000 miles this summer, but it would be more fun if I could stretch out a little.

Speaking of trading I have this boat for sale or trade. 1962 Buick Electra 225. All original survivor with new interior. No rust issues at all. You can really stretch out in this one.
