Any one hold or ever get certified by I-CAR? ( welding) Took the test and passed years ago and now wanting to recert again. Also looking into getting recert on steering and supension and unibody and frame repair. Any one take any of these tests latley?

No one here holds or has held a welding certifcation? Cant beleive it. As many car lovers here i thought there would be more. Its okay just looking for info on the test if it had changed any.

It has changed slightly, now you have to do all the standard welds, butt, overlap, overhead etc...but now you also have to do them with UHS (Ultra high strength) steel as well. It's really not that difficult but if you have never worked with it before there is a little learning curve. Depending on if your shop is aluminum certified or not you will have to perform these welds on aluminum too with a spool.
