cool

good idea[cl will follow this one.

plans for chassis, motor & tranny, rearend, etc, etc...

are ya shorting the body?

what will the wheelbase be?

l turned a 4 door sedan into a two door sedan and never regretted it.

l also plan on taking a 1948 4 door Chrysler cutting down to a two door and put it on a circle track chassis to make a street legal race car.

Later

Well the 39 Chevy came on an S10 frame so I plan on using that. Engine might be a 4.3L V6 because I already have it and gas prices suck so it should help a little.

Very neat project! ...looks like something I would try.

Please take/post lots of photos!

wow.. that looks really nice... this sorta thing may be in my future as I want to build a tail dragger but most of the projects that make nice ones are out of the budget!

I will be watching with great interest to see it all come together

Thanks! Yeah same here I really wanted a cool 40's style 3window taildragger custom, but they are all way out of my budget. So I went after the cheap rusted out 4 doors and with a little imagination and a lot of welding I'm building me my coupe.

I liked the look of the 5 window top better, but the 3 window fits the dragger style better. Way cool and I applaud you for reaching outside the box. [cl This is one of those builds I wish I was there to help.

I like the 5 window look too, but being that Chevy never made a 3 window coupe in 39 I thought it would be cooler to build the one that never existed instead of copying the one that does.

There's only two reasons why you are building this very unique coupe and I'm not: Skill & Imagination.
