When I read the caption my mind went to, well CC is gonna put a late 70's to early 80's Malibu frame in this 67 Chevelle.
Glad that's not the case. This is my favorite year of Chevelle.
When I was 21 I had a 67 SS 375 hp 4 speed one. Man what a ride!!!!!!!

Cool, factory SS bucket seat console car! CC, the Super Sport emblems go on the the rear fenders, not the doors. May have had a bump strip on the doors. I had a 66 Malibu, bench seat powerglide car with a 283, but always like the 67's better.

I still like my idea of using a Vette suspension under it! You could call it a Chevette :eek:, no wait,.....they already used that name!:D

HAHAHAHAAa [cl maybe if this one were mine I would entertain the idea... but this one has another owner....

Thanks, yes, the emblems do go on the rear fender, in which there are holes ffor them... I was reffering to the trim just below the belt line that some of the SS models had in 67 (pic below) which looks to have either been removed, or was never installed (Did they use bondo at teh factory?)

So have you ran the numbers to see if it is actually an SS. It appears to be a car that's had a lot of "attention" over the years.

Haven't gotten there yet... but I will get there to verify.... the VIn said Malibu but that is as far as I've gotten

could they be a modification to try and stop the inherent leaks from the three bolts? Just wondering....

[S possibly, I have another set like these in my basement... just never got around to using them... seems all my vehicles crosmember sits too far back...

[dr[dr[dr WOW.. so many options....

Off With The Flaky Stuff

Unloaded the Velle and did a little temporary prep work.

Knocked off Some surface rust and threw down some 'ol rust this is just to hold the metal until it is fully stripped and primed at a later time.

Still waiting on more parts to start the body work.....

Smallish Update

I dropped a temporary carb on the Velle to see if it did run, as the owner stated.... I did get it to run on dumping gas into the carb :D

I couldn't get any fuel out of the gas line... so I'm thinking with the gauge that says it's at 1/4 is faulty or the fuel pump has given up the ghost.... Gotta love those 'running when parked' cars lol....

Well at least you got it to run for a second or two..

I've seen many of those "oh yeah...ran when we parked it" cars either locked up or no way in heck they are going to start without some major fixin....

4 Gallons of Gas, a Can of Starting Spray, 2.5 Quarts of Trans Fluid and a Fuel Pump!

You read the title correct.....

I messed around under the hood of the Chevelle.... checked the fuel line, it was clear, added about 4 gallons to the tank to make sure it wasn't dry, I noticed the gauge moved :-D so that's a plus....

The fuel pump diaphram was toast... so I pulled one off of another motor that is on it's way to the scrap yard if no one comes and gets it....

With the new pump installed and primmed and a bit of effort from a can of ether.... she stumbled and choked and shut off about a dozen times... but eventually ran a little bit [cl ...

The trans fluid on the dip stick was low, and the car wouldn't move so i ended up adding 2.5 quarts and it finally started moving... got it nestled in the garage!

I see two donors for the Vette suspension[ddd

Stop thinking those naughty thoughts![ddd :D

If you know anyone that has an 80's rear end or 80-82 corvette frame I do need one though....

Update Time

Hey all! I just figured I would post an update... The Chevelle went back to her owner last year... I have some parting pictures. At the time there are plans to continue it someday.
