the turret area is from the window openings up,(the dome shape) what you do is section a piece out all the way around, just above the windows, then cut the roof panel into quarter sections and drop and slide each section out & down over the respective corners, then fill the cross section left in the roof panel. its more work but the results are worth it..

For me, I like the mail slot look, but it depends on the truck.

That is a great view of yer truck, has a badass look about it. Yours doesn't have the turret much, as it starts to roll up over the roof right away, and yer right it depends on the truck, I have a 59' Metro van, I wanna chop 8" and make a club cab pickup out of it.. I'll post some photos later . talk about a "Turret top" ..LOL

Well guys I'm going to try and get out there and work on it over the next few days. It's just been plain hot as hell here the last few weeks.

Ok here's an update on the truck. Got the roof cut and now I'm putting it back together. Its been a fun and learning experience for me. This is my first chop and I think its coming along nicely. I ended up going with the mail slot look I really like the look. Well here are some pics.

Here is the front pillars tacked in place. Going to start the relief cuts to get everything lined up. Also I cut the it into 3 pieces to keep the orginal center point for the split window.
