These are the pics of where I am at thus far. This is just mock up to see what I want the project to look like. This winter I will dismantle it (its only tack welded together) and weld up all the holes in the frame; box parts of the frame and install cross bracing, motor and trans mounts, spring and shock mounts and hopefully get some permanent work done to it. The pics show what I started with, some of the things done and where it is now.

Wonderful, wonderful, great start. What made my pants a little bit wet, was in your first picture. It looked like those motor mounts were for a Y-block Ford, so I was very enthusiastic to see the motor choice outcome.
Is that a small block Dodge or not? My pants are drying now.
Keep on tinkering.

Neat truck! Too bad there's nothing like that left around here to start with. Most of the old trucks got used up in the woods and got scrapped out.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. I have a 350 sbc I built for my 75 elky that is still on the engine stand. Since the elky is on hold I reassigned the engine to this Model AA. I have a 3 speed manual that will be attached. The engine in the original pics is a 267 sbc with a TH700R4 that is just for mock up. That engine is toast.

Got the frame done cept for the rear shock mounts. Decided to build a 327 using an existing 350 block and one of my 307 cranks. Got the pistons and rings, and all. Always did like the 327 and as light as this truck is going to be, I wont have trouble tearing the rubber off the tires. The firewall was holey so instead of trying to repair it, I cut it out and will put a new piece in its place. Got the floor support in and some of the flooring. Still working on the trans tunnel. Had to make a slight modification to floor support for the shift linkage. Built the floor support around a TH350 trans. Hope to get more done over the next year. Just installed a lift in the manhouse which will be of tremendous help.

Still workin on the Mod A rat rod. Got a visit from Mr Prostate Cancer and the treatments and side effects and after effects have really slowed me down. Should have mentioned that in my last post, but don't occur to me at the time. I will finish this project, just don't know how long it will take. Been workin on the bellhousing tunnel and driveshaft tunnel, and firewall.

Thru out the coming months I will work on welding the floor and tunnels in place. I also want to see if I can cut out the roof of a mustang 2 parts car and weld it onto the rat rod. We will see how that works.
