cheap headliner and glove box

What kind of headliner boards are used?

I still got the original out of my '65 but it's only good for a pattern now so I'm looking for something low budget but strong enough to make a headliner out of.

I found enough black and white checkered board material to do a headliner with 1.5in squares.
I think it will look pretty good with my black and gray interior.

I also found 4 full sized checked flags that I was using for curtains in my man cave before I got married.

They are 60in x 34in with 6in squares if anybody is interested in them.

You could get a pair of eyes from an old Elmo doll and glue them up there!
