Default TH350 kickdown question!

Selling my truck so I yanked the Nailhead out & am putting a 350/350 in it's place. I use 700R4's so not that familiar with TH350's. I'm not going to use the kickdown & have been told I can just put silicone to plug the hole, is that true. Does the tranny have pressure that would cause leaking or should I use a plug of some sort? Thanks in advance!

On a 350 you can leave the cable unhooked.
I would put in a rubber plug and a clamp to hold it secure.

I just clipped the end of the cable off just enough to clear the top. Made a little cover plate using the tapped hole that would hold a real kickdown cable on, made a gasket and gave a good coat of black rtv, all's good! Carry on!
