So here are a few pics of 2 of the cars my dad still has from my grandpa. My dad is putting his place up for sale so we are preparing it for that. We moved these to another place and locked them up in a container for safe keeping.

The first one here is a 56 mercury Montclair. Power windows, power seats, power brakes and power steering. Car does run and drive but it needs some brake work and possible a new fuel tank. It plugged the filter last time we had it running. The car was bought from a wrecking yard and it had another car sitting on top of it! I'm not 100% sure why it was In the yard but it was. It was 1 of 2 matching mercs he had. The only difference was the second one had the continental package on it. We have all the hub caps for it inside the trunk along with the parts needed for the brakes.

The second is a 65 "A" code, four barrel 4 speed car. He had started the restoration on this car and never got to finish it. It's supposed to be black on light brown interior. All the body rock was done by a shop In a small town not far from him. It has a passenger compartment full of ford parts in boxs for it! This car also runs, but I have only heard it once and never seen it drive. This is to be my car and my dad told me that when I get my shop up and have a place to put it I can bring it home!!

Yeah, the merc is a cool car! I've always loved it. It has so much character!!!!!!! I'm goin ro get parts ordered today for it so we can clean it out and cruise it this summer alittle.

cool

good save:D

my cousin has a 1965 pony 2+2 fast back 26O ci and a 4 speed' stang in his garage in pieces since the early 198O's and (of course) says no l won't sell it to you because l plan on redoing it. problem is he has no mechanical or automotive type skills or cash to do it justice.

Later:cool:

Way better than the lottery!!!

I'm not sure I have the budget to the mustang justice either skull but I'm sure going to give it a shot [;)

That's it lb50. I'm officially jealous.
I drove a 56 Merc Montclair as my everyday driver thru HS and for a few years afterwards.
I always regretted selling it and still have hopes of owning another one someday.
Here are a couple of old pics of mine.
It was a Cali car. It had a black pleated interior including the dash pad. 312 Y-block with the Merc-O-Matic trans and fender skirts. I found it for sale at a local gas station one day when I was out cruising in my bro's 69 Cuda. He was off looking at colleges with our Mom and I skipped school.[ddd
Ah.. The good old days.
Torchie
p.s. i was doing the "Torchie Lean" even back then....:D

Two likes for these. I'd be proud to be seen in that Merc. Love the fastback Mustang, but I never did fit in them very well.

Congrats on saving the family jewels. :D

That was a good looking car torchie! Thanks skip, I really like the Mercury just because if it's classy looks. The Mustangs are really hard to get in and out of I will agree with you on that. But still worth saving

I'm a hot rodder, not a restorer, but those two deserve to be brought back pretty much original. Maybe a set of wheels and nice tires, some good sounding mufflers and a hidden stereo system. Oh, underdash AC would be fine as an add on, too. Other than that, I'd keep both pretty mild. Too many have been cut up and junked over the years.

I am also a hot toddler. Stock doesn't do much for me. I had the option of the fastback or my dads. Which was originally a 2 barrel 3 speed car but now is far from stock. I wanted this one because it was alittle bit of a special option car. It will be done 100% original. The merc will be the same. I think it's a classy car, not a hot rod.
