Not really, I just caught you like the bulkier look - skirts would help that. If you don't mind the look of the original style overlay skirts, try to find a couple of those - I assume most any of the 42-48 GM cars had the same wheel well openings. They might even be a good start to making a pair of flush mount skirts.

Thanks for the advice Sam. That's what I am thinking. I am going to make my own skirts. Here is what I finished today. I just want my tail to drag and the stock tail is to high. I'm loving it. Good to be different. I have got more time on my tail than the top. Cheers Sam and happy new year, to being different.

Finished up on both sides next the front of the fenders had rot. I cut them out and next week make new pieces. I think I will go with the stock style of skirts. If I find originals I would like to modify and lengthen or make a set.

I've been quietly watching your build progress because I really like your vision and your work.
This will bring a tear to your eye; I have a set of brand new fender skirts that I think will fit that car,------- and you're not getting them.
Here's a couple of pictures of an armload of goodies that I got at a swapmeet this spring. At the back you will see a fender skirt leaning up against a big box. They are supposed to fit anything from forty two up to forty seven.
I'm hoping to put them on a '46 Dodge coupe tail dragger.

FYI, the original Olds skirts aren't straight across t the bottoms since the rear is higher than the front. These are '46 skirts on my '48. (No you can't have them :p)

I don't think I have any with the skirts on and I can't get to it to take pics right now. If you needed a good picture of a skirt, I might be able to manage that.

I laid epoxy primer over the surface and am ready for body work. The skirts are 37-39 Chevy they fit perfect even though I added 2 1/2" inches to the bottom of the fender.
