Well I have not posted any progress photos of this build. the Buzzard is on hold for this truck. My wife suggested that i buy a new truck because my 1 ton dually was just not practical. I explained to my wife that i really did not want a new truck, i wanted to build my own. within about 4 months i fell into a bunch of parts for nearly free. I found a 53 five window in a field the guy gave it to me. I chopped the roof off for the 51 1 ton i picked up for 100 bucks. both the 1 ton and the five window were full of scrap steel and by the time i hauled it all off along with otherparts that were unsavable i made 300. I was given an 1987 Chevy S-10 4x4 fpr free, had a blown head gasket, but had a rebuild trans. sold the canopy, bed, motor, wheels, and glass. that put me 750 ahead, coupled with the 300 i was 1050 ahead. purchased a running (barley) 88 chevy suburban for 300, cut the body up and hauled it off for scrap 100 bucks (1150-300= 850)
So here i am, i have the core support cross memeber built and the cab is all bolted on. i have the floor of the bed tacked together and all the tin haning on the truck, i am preparing to cut the roof off and weld the five window roof to it.
last night i welded in the drivers side Bear claw latches.

I will find the photos of the 1-ton and the S-10 doner veh, i am not sure i took any photos of the 5 window before we chopped it up.

here is a question for those of you that may be reading this. I am have put the Bear Claw latch in the door post and the striker bolt in the door due to a lack of clearance in the door. Putting in the door locks is a breeze, but what i would like to do is use the original door handle and set it up to use a switch to realy to a plunger to open the door. I also need a way to spring load the door handle so that it returns to the up position after it strikes the switch.

any body got any ideas on where to get a heavt duty spring loaded plunger switch?

pictures of the 5 win doner veh

I was orig gonna use this cab, but once i got it of the frame the floor was toast, i figured it would be a lot cheaper to cut the roof off of this truck then to replace the floor.
