I have a friend with a '51 Ford pick-up stock flathead and 3spd. manual. He says he found a '53 3 spd. manual trans with overdrive on Craigs list. What kind of inter-changability are we talking about with this era engine and trannie's? and are the overdrives engaged by a solenoid? What else do we need to know before he buys this trans?
