Going to try to start a build thread. I've been working on this truck on and off for about 3 years mostly in the winter months between side work and snow storms. It's a 49 ford F6 cab with a 39 bed, 32 heavy front axle, Lincoln Versailles 9 inch disc brake rear, 2000 Ford explorer 302 with 94 mustang t5 5 speed. I'm going to try to post pics so here goes.

Well it looks like that worked. I'll try to post more pics and some more info. this is the wooden mock up frame and the cab and bed roughly in place. the cab is chopped 5 inches with 3 inches out of the rear window. the chop was done with parts from 3 roofs because they were so rotted. the bed was shortened 18 inches. Ground clearance is supposed to work out to 7 inches.

I'll try to load pics again. it says a security token is missing.

fuel tank and mounting. the original plan was to make a fuel tank to fit the opening in the frame but a friend brought this one by and it fits perfectly. it is a 26 gallon tank for a boat. it even has a fuel level sender in it and the price was right, free.

OK you win...

the hell for stout award in the frame and suspension categories!!!!
Looks like it will handle anything you throw at it.
Glad you figured out the pics thing. Keep em coming.

Thanks for the complement. stock 302 for now but may get a cam, I,m trying to get this on the road as cheap as possible for now. If in the future I can build a motor I shouldn't have to worry about the chassis.

thanks for all the kind words. this is my first build and I have gotten a lot of great ideas from watching all the great builds on here. I don't seem to get a lot done with having a real job a working out of my garage on the side so there won't be a bunch of updates right away.my next step is figuring out pedals. I have a set of pedals and booster from a v8 fox body mustang and the master cylinder from the dual disc 2000 explorer, I'm thinking that i may have to shorten the pedals a couple of inches in order to lessen the throw or travel so that I end up with a little more leg room. I 5' 11" with a 34" inseam so leg room is at a preimium. I'm not sure if that will give me enough brake line pressure. the other thing I would like to get going on is the grill shell. I would like to do some thing reminicient of a 33-44 ford car or 36 style truck grill so that it leans back at the top in a similar angle as the windshield and then narrow the front of the hood so that is the same width as the radiator shell.
