Did the mock up today to find out what needs to be cut off. Have to cut the frame horns back 6" for the front end and 5" out of the back of the cab. I'm not going to lose any leg room. The frame turns down under to seat perch. cab will drop down 5" more onto the frame. Going on late 70 GMC 1/2 ton short wheel base P/B P/S 350/400th 4brl header. No chop No channel will come in at about 6' ht. Leaving the finish on it.

Reworked the firewall that was cracked (ground out the old farmer welds). Added some gussetts. Stitched up areas that the old welds broke. Cowl work is done, moved the rest of the cab into the garage and started removing interior trim and doors.

Repaired the front door posts. Added some reinforcement to the lower front window to hold a rubber seal and have something to bolt to. Started the seat perch. Test fitted the cowl.

Removed all the drip edge and wood around the inside of the cab roof. Pulled all old nails out, used the holes to welded the roof panel to the sides. Put all the drip edge back on and it looks old again. Did a little more on the seat perch.

Got the cowl back on, cut a bike tube for a gasket between the cab and cowl. Pulled the rest of the wood out and cut the back of the cab. Got to get some square tube tomarrow to finish up bracing the back half of the cab. If things go well the next pics will be of the cab sitting on the frame. I think I got the last pound of dirt out of the cab. Also got a couple pics from the frame I got, the bird poop welds were on the rear bumper mounts

I figured tomarrows post was you driving it over to my place. You are moving fast.
Looks great.

Well I might need a day or two more. Got started late today so I ran of time to try to get the cab on the frame but tomarrow [;) Got the back of the cab bracing done and reworded where I cut the cab off. Used the peice that I cut off the back of the cab to make a patch peice under the cab tool box.
