Well I've had this car for a while now and thought it time to get rockin :D
I got this 40 Pontiac Coupe off Craigs in Minnesota and the ole boy had already cut the top off without any bracing, need I say more :(
The top is off a 62 Corvair, I discarded it.

First thing I done was square and brace the body.

Now I can get started

looks like an ambitious project.

what power train are ya gonna use?

please keep the updates comin'

Later
Hi Skull, seems like all I ever get are like this one
I'm gonna use a 389 or 400 Pontiac and either a 350 turbo or 700r4.
I'll have plenty of pics :D

Neat car should make a great project. On Craigs list in Atlanta lately there have been a lot of awesome Pontiac engines including a 428 and some factory tri-power setups.

The body looks nice and solid, looking forward to watching the build. [P

Back in high school Pontiacs where all I messed with, still kind of partial to them.:)

Pics

Thanks for the input.
I couldn't take it any more so I cut 2" out of the windshield :D

Yea, the one on my 40 chopped top is leaned back and it looks good.
I've got an idea to come on this one so, once I get that done we'll see what that looks like

Hood

The fella I got the car from cut 4" off the bottom of the hood so it would lean down in the front [S
Luckily he kept the cut offs so, I welded the pieces back together :D

You can BS some of the people some of the time...

Seriously though, it's looking good. Have you got plans for a top of any sort? If I recall from some of your other posts, you have enough iron layin' around for, hmm, maybe a removable hardtop? :D

Sam, this is why I thought 2" was enough. The top eyebrow is cut down to 5/8 " and makes it look shorter ?? :)
