ok im gonna start a thread of my build and try to put things all on here in one place

here we are taking it apart down to the frame it took 2 days to get there
lots of rusted bolts and 2 black widow spiders

this was a 3/4 ton 4x4 were gonna make it a half ton 2wd go were gonna shed alot of extra weight by loosing the pto and the transfercase front axle front driveshaft

we found a donar car that will supply us with alot of needed parts its a 68' bel-air wagon it runs and drives it has a rebuilt 307 a turbo 400 and a 12 bolt 5 lug rear axle

we got the engine out of the car and tranny and drive line

we got the front suspension on its a i-beam axle with hair pins its all from so-cal speed shop of arizona early ford repop parts and disc brakes

in the rear we had some huge leaf springs that wouldnt even move when i bounced on them and im a big guy so we needed to take out 5 of the 11 leafs so we arnt riding like a mack truck

Good progress, but I think I would have looked for a different “donor car” .
That ’68 appears to be in decent shape, and with the popularity of wagons what they are, this one might have been worth redoing.
Just my opinion.
