go man, go!

it is only my cruddy opinion but I think ADs dont look right with a chop unless they have also been sectioned.

narrowed though? never seen that! [cl[cl[cl

Interested to see how you do the top chop as some cut these into to quarters(Not necessary IMHO) or straight across and put in a filler piece (I wouldn't do that again:eek:)
I
Knowing your work I'm sure you have it already planned out.:)
If I ever do one of these I will chop it like the pic shows.

They can look good with a chop only if it's not dropped too much. I have seen them narrowed but never saw the point myself as they aren't exactly the roomiest truck ever built. But hey. It's what the customer wants....

I agree whole heartedly.
The pick you posted is my thought to chopping these AD's as this is the peak of the roof and is easier to keep the curve going.
I am dropping it down by 4" to match the sectioning cut.

You're moving pretty fast there lad. How much did you take out of the middle?

I took 4" out of the center.
We have 5 hours in this so far, including bringing it into the shop, separating the front clip from the cab, marking the cut and cutting it.
It took longer to lay it out than to cut it, to make sure I didn't make a fatal mistake:D
As far as the narrowing goes, the main thing is, the customer wants it.
I think it'll keep it from looking like a ski barge on land.
Tomorrow will be spent welding it back together so I can cut the top off.

That AD style always looked like it had a big ole Roman nose and never appealed to me for that reason. I think you may show me one to change my mind. Looking forward to watching this build. More power to you brother. Carry on!!!
