Well, I didn't make any progress but I got a couple of things done around the shop. We put the rear with the new highway gearset back together in my dad's Pontiac. Then decided to replace the tired trans with a new TCI TH400. The swap went smoothly and a road test showed the car works like a champ. Nothing exciting in these pics but I snapped a few just because that's what I do.

The poor tired (and dirty) trans after removal. I forgot to take a side by side with the new one.

And the new TCI TH400 after installation in the car.

Just throwing this in for fun. I had to fab up this trans crossmember for the 48 Pontiac frame. I call it the worlds narrowest trans crossmember. You can almost carry it in your jacket pocket.

Oh, and just for you Tripper. We drilled, tapped, and installed the Indian knob so you wouldn't have to point out it's absence when I post an interior pic. :p:D

well all i got done this weekend on the willys truck was the rear leafs i took yet another leaf out to loosen them up a little bit and replaced the steel bushings in the springs and i bought all new bolts and new shackles.....finding the right bushings took alot of time (not alot of rebuild kits for these things)
now all i have to do is center the axle and weld in the spring pads at the correct angle and the rear should be done:D

I got some holes in my dash filled with tread plate aluminum and am going to drill so I will be able to mount my guages tomorrow. Plan on notching the pass side frame tomorrow as well. If time permits, maybe it will be a tail dragger by tomorrow night.

It just belongs there!!!

well, nothing done on the truck :(, we were busy getting my wifes little sister moved into our house this weekend (long story short-worthless parents). I did however find a nice little corvette were going to try and buy. The deal is that i have to sell all my volvo 544's. I think it's a reasonable request if the wife will let me have a corvette. I'll fill you in with more details later.

Drove up to Daytona to get the beginings of the next project , painted the wheels on the `24 , thats about all , too hot to go outside for long....

I got the booster mounted and all the linkage made,Plumbed the fuel pump to the carb,Got the tunnel all bolted in and made a new plate for the floor board. Also installed a MSD ready to run distributor
Not to much but it was somethin.I also put in a new TCI trans when I put the motor back in.My trans crossmember is about the same size as the one you have there Gastrick because of the X factor in the frame.

That car is lookin really spiffy 35Mastr. I've had real good experiences with the TCI transmissions. Always smooth, quiet, and I've never had a problem with one.

This is the first one that I have ever had.Its a Streetfighter TH350.I also got a Saterday night special converter from them also.I am just waitin to get the Cooler from Goodies speed shop.I ordered last week. They said Maybe Wed it will be in.Its going to be one of those finned ones that I am going to bolt to the frame.

Just picked up a frame and a 9" ford rear....... I like the parts collecting process , every day you get more ideas..... I promised myself I would finish the projects I already started .....but I think i`m a liar.:D

Just rebuilt the Holley on my Gasser. You should see what gas, nowadays, does to anything that's rubber. Check valve in front and rear accelerator pumps were melted. Guess I'm going to have to stock up on them. Also, milling the air horns off of a Holley 4780 as a back-up.

Was the old trans in your Pops car a Hydro Stick? Those were awesome drag trans. Are you going to rebuild it? If so, sounds like a good excuse to build a 60's gasser..........

Horsepower!!!

Er... I worked on my wife's horse stall again! Seems her horse got upset & tore the place up a bit... TOO much horsepower!!! Does that count!?!?! I love the smell of... oh well... nevermind!!! ; - >

A few things done...

Well, I modified the head light mounts (removed a short, not needed, phallic looking piece).
Modified and mounted my radiator puke can. Modified oil puke can from midget dirt car.
Pulled the rear end out of the car.
Going to leave it at a local shop while I am over seas this time ( Limeworks, in Whittier, CA).
They will install the quick change rear and have it ready for me when I get back in a month.
I have accumulated all the internal parts and will be using the old steel quickchange housing that I have.
See picture. Looking forward to reinstalling it in the car when I get back. :D '22
