I can only give you my opinion. I thought it was a disappointment. I didn't realize the show was centered around the Gas Monkey Garage, and I am not particularly a fan of those guys. Plus, it just didn't seem to have any substance.

But don't let me cloud your own opinion when you see it.

not bad

not to bad, good to see a show focus on the cars and builds instead of the drama.

l hope they keep it on.

problems is, everyone now will think they can buy stuff cheap and flip it for a profit....real life don't always work that way.

Later

I liked it OK, at least they didn't see the need to inject a crap load of drama into it!! And that A they built turned out sweet, (V8 would have been nice though)!!

Of course as I've said before, I'll watch anything that involves cars, bikes,
or metal fabrication!!

Not impressed.....I agree with whats been said especially the part about everyone thinking they can do the same thing.......the main guy seems kinda lazy..........and the donk Impala is UGLY!!!!!!!

I only saw the last 30 minutes or so, my opinions may not be right due to that.

I didn't think it was terrible but I am not sure about the main guy.

I certainly did not like the tally up at the end.

Flipping can be done but it is not a gaurenteed thing at all.

I am also concerned that customers will now think you can build a car for 16k and expect people who make a living at it to do it for that price.

In reality the only way they did it was because they flipped it.

If a customer wanted that built it would have cost more.

Why?

Because the customer changes things throughout the build which adds up.

For instance, I know a builder whose customer wanted a quick and dirty ratrod.

That rat rod now has over 60k invested into it and looks nothing like a ratrod. Billet wheels, shiny paint, special hand painted graphics, small block with a blower and all the billet and chrome goodies, etc.

If you are doing it to flip you set a budget and a plan and don't stray from it.

It was alright.....

Not too much drama, so that was a plus..... so on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being above average I'd give it a 6......JMHO.....

show

Watched it,at least it didn't have the drama and better than thou boss on it. Kinda lame trying to make people believe that guy paid over 20 grand for a 4-banger A . I t was at least interesting enough to see what episode 2 brings.More wrenching and a lot less riding would help. I hope the little guy with the goat-t has better skills than he showed when he looked at the Buick fender completely crushed and never looked under the car to check the frame.

Wow, GMG used to have a lot of stuff listed on eBay but I hadn't seen anything from them lately so I thought they'd probably gone under. I'll have to check it out, love a good trainwreck! [ddd

The main guy is a goof. I also wasn't surprised when they found out the frame was a "little tweaked" on the Buick, like Crossfire said. He probably thought they pulled the fender off, bashed it up then bolted it back on. What a bonehead - no disrespect Bonehead :p

I liked it because its not all hi dollar advertising and old cars. The hamb idiots woulda had a heart attack for not fixin the bullet holes in that car. Loid give it a 7. RR

My mother used to say.....

"if you haven't got anything good to say about somebody....don't say nothing at all".....:D:D:D
