not a big fan of blues-e-rock or southern rock, but i did meet billy and dusty at a b-day party years ago when i went home (houston) after i got out of the navy in 82, very cool people. my neighbors wife grow up and went to school with billy.

Awesome. Makes me want to go out and beat the beans out of my coupe on a long stretch of pavement. I'll be listening to that on the trek to Daytona this year.

That lil old band from H-town. I used to go see them back when they were the Moving Sidewalks. When the organ player got drafted back in the Viet Nam days... they formed ZZ. If you haven't seen them in person recently... you should!!! They still rock the house!!!

BoB

They never lost it...

Yeah, I'm with Super......I've always been a big ZZ Top fan, I mean how can you beat great music and a celeb that loves cars as much a Billy does!
And as a car lover, if you weren't influenced in some way with the Eliminator Coupe and the Gimme All Your Lovin' video from 1983 then there's a good chance you need a psychiatric evaluation! :D

Those were the days, MTV actually played music videos and we didn't have all this stuff at our fingertips. I remember having the TV on and someone would yell "hey, the ZZ Top video is coming on" and you ran to see the Coupe and the girls. Fast forward nearly 30 years and this evening I sat at my daughters house and brought YouTube up on the big screen with surround sound and we watched "Gimme All Your Lovin " and I told her to remember the key chain and then we watched " Gotsta Get Paid" .......I wonder how many folks watch it without picking up on the key chain at the end.

These are pics of pics so they are not great but here is me and my then brother in-law in 1985. We used to always go to this Halloween car show and that year we dressed up as ZZ Top complete with an Eliminator Coupe.......

I spent probably 20 hours scaling it out from the album cover and painting the cardboard coupe. LOL When they announced the costume contest we hid over by his F-1 until the last call and then we fired up the boom box and cruised through the lot behind our cardboard car with "Gimme All Your Lovin" blasting :D

......I still have the trophy for best costume! ;)
